Basler Stereo Camera

Designed for robot-mounted applications newly launched Basler Stereo Camera series implements the latest technological advances. Basler Stereo Cameras series provides real-time environmental perception for the robots and helps them operate in harsh industrial conditions with great efficiency. Great hardware is combined with a pre-installed software package and makes the system the perfect choice for typical robotics applications.

Plug-and-play

Plug-and-play ready – smooth set-up process even if you are not experienced in Machine Vision. Rest-API, ROS, and GenICam are supported and compatible with intuitive user interface and straightforward configuration.

Onboard processing

Built-in processing makes the Basler Stereo Cameras easy to integrate into the system without the need for an external PC enabling the system to be mobile. Point clouds can be easily generated from the depth image.

Visual odometry

Great precision and low latency thanks to the most advanced visual-inertial odometry algorithms allow for direct integration into the control loop of a robot-mounted camera.

Stereo data processing:

  • camera image – provides reference image for the image data set
  • depth image – compute camera-object distance through triangulation of the stereo image using SGM (Semi-global matching). Image can be then processed for cloud generation or 3D reconstruction
  • confidence image – provides confidence in each measured value and enables further analysis
  • 3D reconstruction – Basler Stereo Cameras can be used to reconstruct 3D objects by calculating image depth without texture

Stereo Camera 65 color

Its compact size makes it particularly suitable for robot/arm-mounting, e.g. for pick-and-place applications in challenging lighting conditions

Stereo Camera 160 color

Suitable for viewing distances of more than 50 cm like static mounting – robot cell, mobile applications that require color differentiation

Stereo Camera 160 mono

Suitable for viewing distances of more tahn 50 cm like static mounting – work cell, perfect in low-light conditions. Available in 6 mm lens variant.
