Pylon Now Available for OS X – The New pylon 5 Summer Release Is Here!
The pylon 5 Camera Software Suite is now available for download in its new 5.0.5 version for Windows, Linux and, for the first time, OS X. pylon for OS X supports 64-bit x86 architectures and is compatible with OS X Yosemite (10.10) and El Capitan (10.11).
Beyond the introduction of pylon for OS X, the new release also brings a series of minor improvements and bug fixes. One highlight for Linux users: a C-API programming interface has now been integrated into pylon for Linux. It makes it easy to integrate pylon into C applications and existing C code developed under Windows can also be reused within Linux. The new API is complimented by a library of program samples for typical camera usage scenarios.
For Windows users, the new pylon release includes a new .NET API and a GigE Vision filter driver compatible with Windows 10. In applications where squeezing out absolute and extreme performance is less important, pylon can also be run entirely without a dedicated GigE Vision driver, which makes the deployment of pylon-based applications significantly easier.
