Vision systems for the poultry industry
With the development of Avicon systems, production plants in the poultry industry have gained new opportunities. The Quality, Production, and Maintenance departments can take the information provided by Avicon Systems and use it for their own purposes.
Thanks to many years of cooperation with our clients from the industry, we have become authors of studies intended for:
– paws classification due to their skin changes (QS certificate requirement)
– classification of the ankle joints due to the defects, such as the presence of yellow epidermis and/or pressure ulcers
– carcass photo archiving system with the possibility of controlling the rump feathering and skin lesions
– system for controlling the condition of trolleys and stirrups – under development – broken wings control system (against feathering) – under development
List of the main benefits for the Customer Quality Department:
1. checking the welfare of animals from the rearing period – based on the appearance of the underside of the paw
2. checking the welfare of animals during the rearing and transport period – based on the percentage of birds with broken wings (before feathering)

In addition, we provide more “classic” systems, the functionality of which consists, among others, in the control of packaging, labels, applied markings and codes of each type – which improves the automation of processes and opens the way to further improvements, such as robotic palletization. All our systems are tailor-made. We design them taking into account local conditions and needs and integrating with the company’s production management system and databases. Individual approach to each system gives many additional possibilities and constitutes a new quality for this type of solution.
