Detail length control for the furniture industry
Production lines in the furniture industry are fully automated creations that, on the one hand, operate at high capacities and, on the other, are characterized by enormous variability of products.
The doorframe length control system implemented by Avicon for one of the largest door manufacturers in Poland is a very interesting example of using the knowledge of image acquisition and processing to conduct measurements of details of significant size.
The system secures the ability to measure workpieces with lengths from 600 to nearly 2,500mm with an accuracy of less than 0.5mm. Since each workpiece on the line has its own production order and may have a different length, the vision system is integrated with the production management system from where it takes references.
Inspection is done on the fly and has been implemented without reworking the line, where roller conveyors are standard.
