If cameras are used at an ambient temperature of around 45° C, active cooling is usually required. The Turtle series is particularly suitable for outdoor applications, e.g. in the solar industry, because the Peltier module only requires a power supply, which can be realized by a solar cell. These housings have been successfully used for years in the hottest deserts in the world and kept cameras below the maximum operating temperature at an ambient temperature of 70° C and up to 1 kW of solar radiation. The Peltier controller constantly monitors the camera temperature and automatically switches between cooling and heating mode according to the set temperature levels. Continuous monitoring of the camera's internal temperature allows the camera to be turned off in an emergency.
